Better practice drum, better form, better foundation…
Better taiko playing!
DIY Taiko is created by Chung Wan Choi (Chung), who is frustrated with the limited access to practice instrument, which is essential to one’s taiko learning. Tire drums are easy to make, but they are bulky and difficult to imitate the proper naname angle and height. To solve these problems, Chung designs effective practice drums made of simple materials found in recycling center and hardware store.
As the drums are built with low cost, Chung aspires to promote taiko, instrument making from recycled material, music education to less affluent and under-privileged community.
